Abandon Hope Games is a studio dedicated to the development of games that hold innovative gameplay, captivating artwork, and immersive story as a necessary foundation. We firmly believe that games should be regarded as an artistic medium, or rather the seamless fusion of multiple mediums into a singular experience.
Max Drzewinski – Founder, Creative Director
Max Drzewinski graduated from Bard college in 2009 with a degree in studio arts and a lifelong dream of working in the gaming industry, a dream that has been fulfilled with his establishment of Abandon Hope Games in 2010. He has been steeped in gaming for his entire life, from Super Mario Brothers and Duck Hunt on to the very latest releases. In his spare time Max enjoys riding into battle on the back of his armorclad unicorn, listening to epic music, and spending time with his loved ones.
Elliot Franford – Technical Director, Programmer
Our expert in all things coding, Elliot graduated Champlain College with a BS in Software Engineering and is currently working towards his masters in Computer Science at UIUC. In his spare time he enjoys music, games (board and video), and photography. Having always wanted to develop videogames, he jumped at the opportunity to work with Abandon Hope on Perdition..
Angelo Tartanian – Project Manager, 3D Modeler
Angelo is a gentleman and a scholar, to whom all of life is a great game (though the checkpoint system could use some work). He is self taught in animation, 2D and 3D design. He has a keen eye for quality and loves a good scathing critique. When he’s not playing games, he loves to read high fantasy and Scifi and teach others how to make things.
Seth Bleecker – Level Designer
Seth is a life-long video game enthusiast. He cut his teeth on NES games at the tender age of five and has been thinking about making his own games ever since. A few of his influences are Valkyrie Profile, the Super Mario series, Gunstar Heroes, Ogre Battle, Soul Calibur, and the Civilization series. Seth graduated from Principia College with a creative writing degree and continued on to pursue typical novelist activities, such as delivering pizzas and serving coffee. His current hobbies include martial arts, tap dance, singing with a local band, ranting about proper use of semicolons, and, of course, playing video games.
Darren McDowell – Writer
Darren’s introduction to video games, unlike most of the other team members, came from the PC rather than the console, and that fact has shaped his life in ways that continue to surprise him even now. The myriad difficulties inherent in keeping these evil machines running exposed him from a relatively early age to most of the very many things that can go wrong with a computer, and eventually resulted in his founding a small IT company, Caliber Computer Services. He graduated from Bard College in the same class as Max with a degree in English literature and a particular love of epic. His hobbies include reading, writing, and of course gaming.
Patrick Tsao – Artist
Twenty-five years ago Patrick was pulled kicking and screaming into the world. After spending a few years recovering from the experience, he was introduced to the twin wonders of video games and drawing in the forms of a handheld Game and Watch system, and a single purple crayon. The rest, as they say, is history…whoever they are. His artistic qualifications consist of a BFA in Computer Art he found in a bin outside of Syracuse University, and plenty of projects to spare. He is fueled by his passion for the artistic, the twisted, and all the “Energy” Vitamin Water money can buy.
Shoshi Roberts – Web Designer and Developer
Shoshi is a champion of user-centered design that creates engagement and conversation. Finding new ways to make the internet a fun, friendly place to be keeps her brain percolating non-stop. She lives and works in New York City, which provides her with constant inspiration. When not at her computer, she enjoys consuming cupcakes, making robot friends, and spending time with her lovely human friends.
